Support
We're a small team, and we read every message. Email us at support@a1cmealprep.com. We reply as soon as we can, usually within a few working days.
To help us fix a problem quickly, tell us what you were doing, what happened, and your iPhone model, iOS version and app version (the version is at the bottom of the Me tab). You can also tap Me → Contact us in the app. Please don't send health details unless we ask.
Low blood sugar: what to do now
Feeling shaky, sweaty or dizzy? These can be signs of low blood sugar, below 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L). Use the 15-15 rule, from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
- Have 15 g of fast carbs: 4 oz (120 ml) of juice or regular soda, 4 glucose tablets, or 1 tablespoon of sugar or honey.
- Wait 15 minutes, then check your blood sugar again.
- Still below 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L)? Repeat.
- Back in range? Eat a meal or snack.
Call emergency services if someone passes out or can't swallow safely: 911 in the United States and Canada, 999 in the United Kingdom, 112 in the EU. We can't give emergency help, and we don't read email for emergencies.
A1cMealPrep never suggests medicine or insulin doses. Ask your doctor for a plan for lows. Sources: CDC and NHS. The same help is in the app: Me → Low blood sugar help.
Signing in
A1cMealPrep needs an account. You make one with Continue with Apple or Continue with Google, after the sample plan and the subscription offer, whether or not you subscribe. There's no password to remember.
- With Apple, you can hide your email. Apple then gives us a relay address that forwards to you.
- With Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with us, as it does with every app you sign in to with Google. We show your name in the Me tab.
New phone? Tap Log in on the first screen and sign in the same way as before, with Apple or with Google. If "Plan with my health info" was on, your answers and choices come back and a new plan is built from them. If it was off, only your choices were saved, so you answer the questions again. If your subscription doesn't show, tap Restore purchases on the paywall.
Logging out (Me → Log out) removes your plan, shopping list and answers from the phone, so the next person to use it sees nothing. Your account and subscription stay.
Asked to sign in again? Your session on this phone ended, or the account was deleted on another phone. Sign in with the same account to get back to your plan.
Delete your account
In the app, go to Me → Privacy & data → Delete my account. This removes your plans, shopping list, ratings, favourites, settings and health info from our servers and from your phone. You can't undo it.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Apple bills it, so cancel it first (see below). If you signed in with Apple, we ask Apple to remove A1cMealPrep from your Apple Account too; if it's still listed under Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings, you can remove it there. If you signed in with Google, you can remove A1cMealPrep from the third-party connections in your Google Account's security settings.
If you can't open the app, email us from the address you signed in with and we'll delete your account for you.
Cancel your subscription or get a refund
Go to Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → A1cMealPrep → Cancel. You can also open Me → Subscription in the app. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. If you cancel during the free trial, at least 24 hours before it ends, you pay nothing.
Apple handles payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't refund App Store purchases ourselves.
New phone, or the app says you're not subscribed? Tap "Restore purchases" on the paywall.
Change or take back a consent
Go to Me → Privacy & data. You can turn each of the three choices on or off there. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
Questions about plans and recipes
A meal is missing from my plan
Plans only use recipes that fit your carb range, budget, time, allergies and food style. If nothing fits, the slot stays empty. Try widening your budget or your time per meal, or check the foods you've said you don't eat.
The cost isn't what I paid
Costs are estimates from official average-price data. They're not the price at your store, and they're labelled as estimates.
I found a problem with a recipe
Email us the recipe's name and what's wrong. If it involves an allergen or food safety, tell us right away. Always read labels yourself, because allergy filters can be wrong.
A reminder
A1cMealPrep isn't a medical device and doesn't give medical advice. Carb numbers are estimates for planning. Don't use them to dose insulin. Check with your doctor before making medical decisions.
